

Bertram (Bert) H. Friedman, 89, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away on December 2, 2016 in Fairfax, Virginia following a brief illness. Bert was born in Albany, NY on April 15th, 1927 to Louis Friedman and Bessie Marcus Friedman. He proudly served in the U.S Army during World War II. Bert then went on to receive a degree in Journalism from the University of Michigan where he met and married the love of his life, Nancy Lou Lewis in 1949. He resided with Nancy and their family in Michigan, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New York and finally in Florida where he lived until his death.
Predeceased by his loving wife, Nancy, Bert is survived by his four children, Lisa (Barry) Baker of Ormond Beach, FL., Linda Faggio of Ellicott City, MD, Tami (John) Perriello of Alexandria, VA and Brett (Jill) Friedman of St. Augustine, FL, grandchildren Daniel Perriello, Jennifer Schwechten, Kimberly Pouncey, Christina Neal, Marc Friedman, Tracy Caswell, Julie Faggio, Kelsey Friedman, Emily Friedman, and the late Stephanie Faggio, 6 beloved great-grandchildren, other dear extended family members and many adored friends.
The family welcomes visitors on Saturday, December 10th from 1- 2 pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, FL. A funeral service will begin at 2pm with a reception to follow the interment at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach.
