

Edward Wilson Browder (Ned) of Ormond Beach, Florida went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 12, 2016 at the age of 90. He was born in Chase City, Virginia on September 13, 1926 to John and Marion Flippo Browder. Ned was a devoted husband and father. Ned and Shirley Hammond Browder lived a wonderful love story that began on January 23, 1953 when they married and has lasted all these 63 years. They were blessed with two children, Teresa and Robert (Nicole) who live in Ohio and five grandchildren, Terri’s Nichole and Victoria Rook; Rob’s Andrew, Noah, and Carson. Ned was predeceased by 4 brothers, John Jr., Thomas, Bob, and Raymond. His 2 living brothers are Joseph Earl (Joanne) of Macclenny, Florida and Watt Flippo (Mary) of Powhatan, Virginia and brother-in-law, Floyd Hammond of Cincinnati, Ohio and sister-in-law, Barbara Hammond Seals.
During the Second World War, Ned served his country from 1944-46 as an Army Paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division, 127th Combat engineering Battalion. He went into Japan with the occupational troops after the bombing of Hiroshima.
Ned worked for Kahn’s in Cincinnati, Ohio for 381/2 years before retiring in 1989. He and Shirley moved from Evendale, Ohio to Ormond Beach, Florida in 1992. Ned has been a proud member of the Shriners and other Masonic organizations for over 60 years.
Funeral services will be held at Central Baptist Church on 152 Fairview Avenue, Daytona Beach on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:00. A time for visitation will be held from 10 am until service time at 11am and the family will receive guests in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service. Interment with Military Honors will be at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach.
