

Elizabeth S. Jaber (Betty) 96, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, at home in Ormond Beach, after a period of declining health. She was the much beloved mother of Carol Johnson (Ormond Beach), William and Sandra Jaber (Waupaca, WI), and Ellen Koga (New York City), and grandmother of Nicholas Koga (NYC). She is deeply mourned by her sister Margaret Pennings of Fond du Lac, WI, and brother; Sam Schuppe of Chicago, and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was born May 25, 1916 in Fond du Lac, WI, and lived there until she and her husband moved to Ormond Beach in 1975. Her husband, Annice (known as AJ) preceded her in death in 2004. She was one of seven siblings, a tightly knit group who bonded lovingly throughout life, and she never stopped missing Fred, Anne, Martha and Marie. A talented seamstress and needle worker, Betty kept her daughters well-dressed and made display garments for the Cloth World store. She later worked at Sam’s Club. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Daytona Beach more for than 30 years. Her friends will remember her as a quiet woman with a mischievous streak who loved April Fool’s pranks. Her neighbors cheered her on fitness walks around the neighborhood, especially after cane or walker was needed. A memorial service will be held at Zacherl Funeral Home in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin at 11 am on Saturday, August 18, 2012. A gathering in the garden will be held at the residence of Carol Johnson in Ormond Beach on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 12 Noon, details are available through Volusia Memorial Funeral Home or Carol. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Florida Hospital Hospice Care or to the Ted Hoyer Charitable Trust. A private Burial will be at Volusia Memorial Park Cemetery in Ormond Beach, FL
