

Emily G. Whitney, 83, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, just days shy of her 84th birthday. Born on September 27, 1941, in Beverly, Massachusetts, Emily lived a life marked by love, service, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Emily was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elmer and Elizabeth Lloyd, and her brothers, Carl Cathcart and Donald Lloyd.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Robert E. Whitney, Jr., and by five devoted children: Alexander Gardner (Min), David Gardner (Laurie), Heather Ginder (Matthew), Kim Montevecchio (Tim), and Peter Whitney (Christina). She also leaves behind ten cherished grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her dear sisters-in-law, MaryLou Galasso and Patricia Large (Donald).
A long-time member of Tomoka United Methodist Church, Emily’s faith was a guiding light in her life. She found great joy and fulfillment in Bible study and her church community. Her passions extended to the simple pleasures of life—beautiful flowers, reading, warm days at the beach, and quiet moments spent with those she loved. An avid golfer and a dedicated volunteer, Emily brought energy and compassion to everything she touched. Emily's professional life reflected her heart for service and her gift for connecting with others. Over the years, she held numerous roles that allowed her to make a meaningful impact: from Outreach Program Director and Program Coordinator for Seniors, to her work recruiting academic mentors for children. She also excelled in customer service roles for both moving and transportation companies, always approaching her work with care, kindness, and professionalism. Emily’s legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Tomoka United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. All who knew and loved Emily are welcome to attend and share in remembering her beautiful life.

Her love, laughter, and enduring spirit will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
