Ms Gladys A Chick

Gladys A. Chick, passed into heaven with Jesus, July 31, 2011. During World War II she was employed as one of the ladiess known as "Rosie the Riveter." In the late 1960's and early 1970's Gladys enjoyed the real estate profession. Mrs Chick was a sales associate at May Cohens, Dillards and Marshalls. She was an avid shopper, blessing many grandchildren with surprizes. Her days as a Halifax Hospital volunteer were a joy to her. Gladys loved her friends at Tomoka Christian Church, family members and coworkers. She was known as "Granny" not only to family but also to her caretakers at Clare Bridge of Ormond Beach. Her caring attending physician was Dr. Kashyap Patel, M.D., Ormond Beach. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her sons; Terry(Kathy) Chick of Ormond Beach; Jack Jr.(Barbara) Chick of Columbia, MO; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; brother Robert (Margaret) Alderman of Lake Park, GA and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 am August 4, 2011 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 548 N Nova Rd. Ormond Beach. The family will recieve friends at the funeral home Thursday from 10-11 am prior to the service.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbrier Dr. Port Orange, Fl 32129.
