Born on July 6, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York, Glenn was the beloved son of the late James and Erna Scarlett. He later moved to Staten Island, where he graduated from McKee Vocational High School before serving his country. In 1978, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, a decision that shaped his character and instilled in him the discipline and determination he carried throughout his life.
As a Marine, Glenn completed the Advanced Automotive Mechanic Course. His skill and dedication led him to Camp Pendleton, California, where he earned the rank of Lance Corporal. His service to his country was a source of great pride, and he carried that pride with him always.
Following his military service, Glenn returned to New York and continued his trade, spending 28 years working for the NYC Transit Authority. It was his sharp humor and no-nonsense attitude that made him unforgettable and created friendships that turned into brotherhood.
After retirement, Glenn fulfilled a long-held dream and moved to Ormond Beach, Florida, where he embraced the simple joys of life. He cherished time with his daughters especially weekends in St. Augustine, the open road on his Harley, and happy hour.
Glenn has been a rock to many, a master at sarcastic humor, his witty commentary, and even a glorious pain in the neck. He kept a small circle, and the ones lucky enough to be in it knew that once you were marked as important to him, he'd always be your side.
There was so much more to him than just dad, though to us that was his greatest roll - he was also a friend, a coworker, brother, uncle, proud veteran ,a handyman, and outbacks number 1 customer
Glenn is survived by his daughters, Jessica and Casey, who will forever carry his love and spirit with them; his sister, Nancy; and his niece, Scarlett.
We invite all who knew and loved him to share their favorite pictures and memories so he can smile down on us while he reads them, likely with a sarcastic comment or two.
Semper Fi, Dad. You will be missed beyond words, and never forgotten.
