Tuesday February 10th after a brief illness. She was the
daughter of the late John J. and Nora Curran Myers. She
was married to John F. Sullivan for 55 years before his
death in 2013. Predeceased by her sister, Mary Vojta,
and son in law, Neale Furlong.
She was born and raised in Yonkers, New York. She
moved with her family to Palm Coast in 1979 and later
became a resident of Ormond Beach. Joan was an
Executive Assistant at Embry Riddle Aeronautical
University until her retirement in 2004. In her earlier
career, she was an Executive Assistant at General Foods
Corporation in White Plains, New York.
Survivors include a son, John (Jeanne) of Fairfield,
Connecticut, a daughter, Maureen Sullivan Furlong of
Ormond Beach, five grandchildren, Justine, Lindsay
(David Condon), Dawn, Alex and Stephen and two great
grandchildren, Rory and Kieran.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Prince of Peace
Catholic Church with internment at Volusia Memorial
Park
