At the age of sixteen he immigrated to Canada with his parents and siblings where he apprenticed and
earned his trade as a floor technician. In 1983 John came to the United States where he worked and
taught his trade until his illness over took him. It was here in Daytona that John met Barbara, the love of
his life, who has been a source of joy and comfort to him for over 32 years.
John was a unique and talented individual who was very well respected in his chosen profession by both
colleagues and clients alike. John was an Irishman who loved life, his family, and his friends with whom
he lived life to its fullest. John also had a serious and responsible side, which manifested in his interest
and love for creating, designing and working with computers. Those interests, together with a talent for
working with his hands, enabled John to explore and conquer the field of computers and graphic design.
He designed and created many beautiful things giving him joy and satisfaction. John devoted himself to
his beliefs, his love of the Lord and his teachings which were a great comfort to him in his life and
especially in his final days.
John's family would like to thank Dr. Deveras and the devoted and caring staff at the Halifax Health Center for Oncology for their compassionate care of John. Contributions may be made to the American /Canadian
Cancer Society in John's memory. Although saddened by his passing, his loved ones rejoice knowing he is no longer battling cancer and is now at peace. John is survived by his soul mate Barbara; sisters, Margaret, (Roy), Ann (Bobby), Louie
