Mac was born in Daytona Beach, FL in 1925. A longtime resident in Ormond Beach, he enjoyed Nascar, traipsing through the woods as a young boy, quail hunting with his father, and taking road trips with his wife Madeline and nephew Danny after her passing, to North Carolina for family reunions.
Mac proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Force. After retiring from the military, he went on to work for the Post Office for twenty years.
Mac is survived by his sister, Margaret “Peggy” Wallace Pearce; nieces and nephews, Kathy Wallace McIlrath (Danny), Cindy Wallace Roberts (Brian), John Beowulf Pearce, Solveig Pearce Kielty (Steven), Jennifer Roberts (Doyle), Penny Dalton, Ann Mills Satterfield (Frank), James “Ricky” Mills (Pam); Michael Mills (Lisa), David Mills (Donna), Susan Mills Dickson ( Dave), and John Taylor Mills (Nancy); William Windham, Larry Windham, and Robert Windham (Sandy) and many more and lots of great nieces and great nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, William Robert Wallace Sr. and Niva Mae McClellan Wallace; brother, William Robert “Bobby” Wallace Jr. and Johnny Lillian Haynes Wallace, and sister, Patricia “Pat” Wallace Hether.
A gathering (viewing) of friends and family will occur on January 19th from 12:30pm-1:00pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL. A Celebration of a Long Life Lived will follow at 1:00pm in the Oceanside Chapel at Volusia Memorial. A burial with military honors will follow at Volusia Memorial Park.
