Joseph Pompilio, 101, of Holly Hill, passed away on December 10, 2010 at Florida Hospital-Oceanside. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday January 7, 2010 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 South Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL. Entombment will follow in Volusia Memorial Park, 550 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach.
Joseph Pompilio was born on July 16, 1909 in Italy and moved to this area in 1972 from Pittsfield. He retired as an Engineering Specialist for General Electric in Pittsfield.
He is a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge in Ormond Beach. He enjoyed tinkering, planting, and the outdoors.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his very close friends, Joyce Mcgrath, Bill Melle, and Barbara Sprague.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Gladys, who passed away on September 6, 2010.
