Lila Ruth Edgmon Fleenor Poole

Lila Ruth Edgmon Fleenor Poole, 88, a member of the High Point Seventh-Day Adventist Church in High Point, NC departed this life on December 10, 2012 in Palm Coast, FL. She is survived by her husband, Herman Poole, of High Point; three step-children: Tim Poole, Cynthia Slack, Vickie Walters; her two daughters: Joyce Fleenor Carbajal and Nancy Fleenor Nelson; son-in-law: Bloyce Nelson; three grandchildren: Denyse Nation, Mark Nelson, Christi Crook; three great-grandchildren: Jillian, Kassandra, Maksim; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Dot) Fuller and Mrs. Bob (Thelma) Skeggs; two brothers: Grover Edgmon and Deward Edgmon. Lila was preceded in death by her sister, Eunice Jenkins and her brothers, John Edgmon and Warren Edgmon.

Lila was a native of North Georgia, but had been a resident of High Point for the past 41 years. She attended Southern Missionary College (now known as Southern Adventist University) and had served as a missionary in South America and Mexico. In addition to missionary work, she worked for the church in many other capacities across the United States. She enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, camping, sewing, quilting, cooking, and shopping. She collected bird-houses and light-houses.

Lila will be missed dearly by her family, relatives and friends as well as by the family members of her first husband, the late, George Herbert Fleenor. She will always be remembered for her wonderful cooking, beautiful smile, sense of humor, and words of wisdom. Lila is resting peacefully at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Ringgold, Georgia next to her parents Ella Mae and John Edgmon.
