Mary Goodbar Clemmons of Daytona Beach Shores died at the age of 82 on Sunday morning, June 28, 2020 at the Hospice Care Center in Port Orange. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed sorely. Her immediate family surrounded her at a graveside service on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
Mary was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia and moved to this area in 1969 from Merritt Island. She was an RN at Halifax Hospital and local Family Practice offices. She attended Westminster By The Sea Presbyterian Church and was an avid bridge player. She enjoyed traveling, music, playing the piano, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Mark) Brooks, Cypress, Texas; son, Steve (Rhee) Clemmons, Opelika, Alabama; sister, Eliza Popovsky, Beachwood, Ohio; brother, Robert Goodbar, Clifton Forge, Virginia; sister Pearl Lawrence, Mocksville, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Eric (Lana) Clemmons and Erin Clemmons; five nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 49 years, Tom, and her parents, Estelle Frances Bane and Boyd Campbell Goodbar.
