Mary Louise Kannan

Mary Kannan, known as Mickey, Aunt Mickey, Mom, passed from earth into Eternity on January 1, 2026. Baptized on January 1, 2017, and a member of Sunrise Service Ormond Beach and also Spirit Life Worship Church of Palm Coast, Mickey is a Lover of GOD, family and friends, music and good times.

Born in Paden City, WV, to William and Louise Kannan, she was raised with sisters Joyce, Toni, Brother Bill, and youngest sister Abby. Mickey and Abby followed Brother Bill to experience life in places including California and Arizona, where she gave birth to her son Darren. Shortly thereafter, Mickey, Brother Bill, sister Abby and Mom Louise moved to Florida where she gave birth to her daughter Sara.

Mickey built her world around her kids and family, including her niece Heather and nephews Charlie and Jerry. The family remained close, as one big family. Louise, Bill, Mickey, Abby, and the children of Mickey and Abby would function as one family, and even shared the same home at times. Many birthdays, trips and adventures were shared together.

Mickey was a diligent and dedicated worker, from being a coal miner in her early years, and other occupations, until she began her career at Hawaiian Tropic, which she retired from after 20 years. After retiring she would often help her daughter Sara with caretaking for elderly friends of the family.

Mickey is known as kind, Loving, compassionate, sweet, joyful, and as a "Super Mom".

A graveside service will be held at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, located at 548 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Florida. The service is scheduled for January 17, 2026,
