Mary Jane Webb, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Aunt, entered the gates of heaven and into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 10th, 2014. Love, sacrifice, forgiveness and faith are four words to describe Mary Jane. On November 16, 1925, Mary Jane was born the third of four siblings to John and Myrtle Mitchell in St. Louis, MO. She lived a tough life as a child during the great depression. Mary Jane spent several years apart from her family, having to live in several foster homes, until her mother could save enough money to bring the family together again. She endured the breakup of not only her parent’s marriage but her own marriage, and in 1968, was involved in a horrific car accident leaving her with permanent back problems for the rest of her life. Yet, despite it all, she was able to raise two children on her own with no outside financial support. She worked for over 22 years as an Executive Assistant at Angelica Corporation, a garment manufacturer in St. Louis, MO, in order to provide for her family. In addition, she taught Bible studies for over 30 years. In her retirement years, she became an accomplished author and had several articles published in a variety of Christian magazines. She truly enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking and reading; however there was no greater love than her love for family and for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In the best times and the worst times, she never lost faith and continued to praise God for all her blessings. Mary Jane did not fear death; in fact she called it her “graduation.” So, happy graduation Mom. We’re certain you’ve graduated with honors. Mary Jane is survived by her son Ray Webb and Mendey, Holly Hill, son Randolph Webb and wife Nikki, Palm Coast; grandsons Kenneth Webb and Molly, Palm Coast, Jonathan and Jared Webb, Ormond Beach, Noah Blake, Holly Hill; great grandson Kaden James Webb, Palm Coast and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will take place at 10:00am on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 548 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach. The funeral service will begin at 11:00am followed by the burial. We want to thank all the caretakers at Grand Villa Assisted Living, Coquina Nursing Home in Ormond Beach, and Florida Hospital Hospice. Most of all, we want to thank the Pastors at Tomoka Christian Church for your endless visits and for always keeping our Mom in your prayers. “He will wipe every tear form their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things as passed away.” Revelation 21:4
