With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Robert Clark, who left us too soon in a tragic motorcycle accident during Bike Week in Daytona on March 8, 2025. He was a beloved father, grandfather (dziadziuś), brother, and friend, known for his adventurous spirit, unwavering kindness, and daredevil-like attitude.
Born on May 3, 1954, in Passaic, New Jersey, to Lucille and George Clark Sr., Rob lived with passion and purpose. A proud alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he attended on an athletic scholarship for gymnastics and majored in Communications and Film. His creativity, discipline, and love for storytelling shaped the way he connected with the world. After college, he continued to share his passion for gymnastics, working with young athletes at the YMCA, where he became a director and coached women’s gymnastics, mentoring and inspiring countless athletes throughout his career.
Later, Rob transitioned into the business world, working alongside his brother George at Xenobiotics Detection Systems, where he served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), helping support his brother’s company. His leadership and dedication contributed to its success, demonstrating the same work ethic and passion he applied to every aspect of his life.
Whether soaring through the air in competition, riding his motorcycle down the open road, sharing stories that filled the room with laughter, or scaling water towers on a dare, Rob embraced life fearlessly. He never met a stranger that soon wouldn’t become a close friend, always made time for those in need, and left an unforgettable mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Above all, Rob’s greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family, whether hitting up the matinee for a good movie, chilling at the pool on a sunny day, or simply enjoying the company of those he loved most.
Rob is survived by his brother George; children Kristy and Alex, and their mother Elena; sons-in-law Ben and Scott; and grandson Emmett. He is also remembered by countless friends who became family. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of adventure, generosity, and love will live on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1pm March 29, 2025 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to service. A Fellowship of your stories, your laughter, will follow the Celebration of Life service.
Rob would have wanted his legacy of adventurous spirit to be carry forward.
Ride free, Rob—you will be forever missed.
