Ron was born in Wausau, Wisconsin. Ron came to Volusia County in 1988 from Plantation, Florida. He formerly worked for Teco Gas, both in Miami and Daytona Beach. Ron was a veteran of the Air Force and in his retirement volunteered at Advent Health Hospital, Daytona Beach (3rd Floor) and the AARP Tax Foundation.
Preceded in death by his parents Walter and Evelyn Mathwich, his brother David Mathwich, and his son-in-law Dave Green. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Mary J. Mathwich, his children Mary Mathwich-Green, Walter Mathwich (Teresa), Maggie Mathwich, Michael Mathwich (Julie), and Marcia Haskel (Jeff). Grandchildren, Ryan Mathwich (Naky), Lindsay Mathwich, Jake Mathwich (Andrea), and Taylor Mathwich. Great-Grandchild Sienna Rose Mathwich. He was also blessed to have four step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Brendan – The Navigator- Catholic Church on April 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Advent Health Hospice.
