Shirley was a warm and caring person. Back in 2004 after the hurricanes a group of us came to Daytona Beach area on a mission trip to help clean-up debris. Shirley without knowing any us invited us 2 of us into her home to stay while working on a local church and homes. After that initial meeting we became friends forever! I would visit her every time I came to the area, she would always invite me to stay with her. We enjoyed each others company, eating out at times, or she would make us fish which her late son had caught. She once said I could be her southern Mother - and she was! She was a proud mother, a devoted Christian and a good friend. The world was a better place because of her, she will be missed. God bless Shirley.

I am deeply saddened to hear of you Mother's passing, Pam.  I will always remember what a lovely lady your mother was to our whole family growing up on Ray Mar Drive.  She would often drop me off at Oceanside Pre-Kindergarten on her way into work at the bank and I can remember her including my brother Richard and I in the vehicle participating in the Holly Hill Christmas Parade.  She and your Dad were wonderful friends to my Mom and Dad and made the street a real neighborhood.  I was fortunate as an adult to once again come in contact with your Mother and was able to reminisce with her about both our families.  She will remain in my heart as one of the dearest people to touch my life.  My prayers are with you and your family.

This all seems so unreal that we are reading the news of your passing- we will forever treasure your friendship and the joy of  having you as a neighbor. Thank you ever so much for watching our furr baby Maggie when we did not want to leave her home alone all day. She loved sitting on your lap watching the birds. Sleep in peace Shirley, we will miss seeing you.
