Werner Frank, 75, of Daytona Beach, FL passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. He was born in Wittingen, Germany on September 26, 1936, a son of Martha and Wilhelm Frank. He immigrated to Midland, Michigan in 1957 as a master mechanic for Volkswagen Motors. He moved to the Elgin, IL area where he became the owner of a Toyota dealership. He also became a professional sports car driver and owner of a racing team. In 1986, he retired from the auto dealership, but continued his interest in auto racing until 2003. On May 29, 1987 he married Trish Dirrenberger of Woodstock, IL. After living in Denver, CO for 6 yrs., they moved to Daytona Beach in 1994. In Daytona Beach, he became an avid golfer. He leaves behind his beloved wife Trish, stepson Ben Koontz (Olathe, KS), stepdaughter Liz Brooks and her husband Blake, and 2 grandchildren Gavin and Elle (Ottawa, KS). A private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Werner’s memory to the charity of your choice.
