Arthur Johnston

Passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Orchard Villa Long Term Care Centre in Pickering, ON at the age of 82. Art was the beloved husband of Ada (nee McNiven) Johnston. They had recently celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary in May. Loving Father of Gordon (Sylvia Parr) of Oshawa and Margaret Johnston of Kitchener. Extremely proud Grandfather of Alexandra and Sydney Piatkowski of Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by his sisters Sharon (Michael) Bural, Sandy (Ken) Barnes, Susan (Harvey) Smith, Debra Johnston and Denise (David) Talbot. Predeceased by his parents George (1999) And Vera (1934). Art and Ada were longtime residents of Peterborough and prior to that Meaford, Alliston and Stayner. Art worked for Ford dealerships for his entire career including both Holiday Ford and Lakeland Mercury in Peterborough. Don Bumstead Motors Ltd. Meaford and Hannah Motors in Stayner. Cremation has occurred and a Memorial Service for Art will take place at Willis Presbyterian Church in Jarratt, ON, on Saturday, August 20th at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Knox Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Oro-Medonte Township. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Charity of your choice.
