April 15, 1992 – October 20, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Barbara Jean Serroul, age 32, of Oshawa, on October 20, 2024. Barbara Jean’s greatest joy in life was her beloved daughter, Trinity. She cherished every moment spent with her family and friends.
Barbara Jean’s love for animals was boundless, and she found her true calling in the veterinary field, where she devoted herself to helping creatures big and small. Her kind heart and gentle spirit touched the lives of so many, both human and animal alike.
Barbara Jean will be remembered for her spicy sense of humor and fiery personality. She was always game for a good adventure and trying something new. She enjoyed spending time outside in nature, spending time by the water and listening to music.
She is survived by her daughter, Trinity Spooner; her mother, Barb Serroul; her father, Daniel Young; her sister, Mandi (Chris) Shelswell; her nephew, Doyle Shelswell; and her bonus father, Phil Clarkin. Barbara Jean’s memory will also be held dear by her first love, Steven Spooner, as well as by her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
She is predeceased by her grandparents, Danny and Isabel Serroul, and Stevie and Stella Young, as well as her uncle, Dan Serroul.
Barbara Jean’s legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she touched, including her cherished fur babies and animal friends. She will be missed beyond measure.
Visitation will be held at the Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Monday, October 28th from 12:30 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the chapel at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal shelter.
Barbara Jean’s favorite Poem – The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe
…But the Raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only\ That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.\ Nothing farther then he uttered—not a feather then he fluttered—\ Till I scarcely more than muttered “Other friends have flown before—\ On the morrow he will leave me, as my Hopes have flown before.”\ Then the bird said “Nevermore.”…
