Dear Twiddy family, my name is Megan Penney. I was a good friend of Bens, and him of mines. I still can't believe Ben is gone, and Lord knows you cant either. I cant imagen what it would feel like to loose a child, so I give you my deepest regrets. Ben is resting in peace, and as much as we miss him.. he wouldnt want to see us like this.

I am not sure quite what to say, but i have had some time to think, and all i can say is this. My heart feels what your heart feels. I am incredibly empathetic to the loss you and your family are experiencing. I am comforted by the fact that Holly was not alone. And she cared for him and worried about him deeply. I would love to get together soon and share some stories about Ben that i may not have known. Again, i am sorry for YOUR loss in this whole tragedy as well.

Ben, we always knew you were a very special person, and when this happened we were angry that you where taken from us so young. It wasn't until now that we have discovered how many people you touched with your smile and your ability to strike up a conversation with a total stranger and walk away with a new friend. We will miss you like crazy but we take strength in knowing that papa is with you. I don't know if you remeber this or not, but papa had some great stories about his life growing up. Ask him to tell you the one about his cardboard skates or the pony he rode to school. I think those are my favourites. May God and papa keep you safe until we meet again.

I am still in shock over the news and i am sorry that i was not able to attend the visitation as i am away at the moment. I remember Ben as one of the first patients i cared for in my first day at SickKids. I have been blessed for the privilage of taking care of Ben throughout the last 14 years. I will cherish our time during his dialysis sessions and subsequent gift of another transplant. I will alway remember his brave and courageous fight that was part of his character. I will remember the camp days that showcased Ben growing up. I am fortunate to having seen him grown from a boy to a man. I will miss him dearly. Oliver Darlucio RN

At Anderson CVI, our sons were classmates and kindred spirits of the humourous, cartoon kind. Adam fell into a long, long silence upon hearing the simple facts, and the smile left his eyes. Benjamin (as I remember him) was always such a great kid. My acquaintance with him was as a patient when he went through procedures in Diagnostic Imaging and IGT. I  have known him since he was a baby and as he continued to grow into a young man. He was amazing. He was finally his 'own person".You should be so proud. I will hold those memories dearly to my heart and wish you and your family both strength and the insight to know the very positive impact and contributions that you have made to Ben's time with us.

Dear Ron and Edith, when I heard about this tragic story my heart ached and still does for all of the families and friends who were close to these 3 young adults thats passed way to early in life. I have another friend, Jeannette Adams, who also lost her daughter Holly Harrison which is obviously a freind of Bens in this horrific tragedy. Iam sure there are know words to describe the pain and suffering in losing a child. Iam not a parent myself but i could not even begin to imagine what all of these families are going through. My thoughts, prayers and condolences are sent to the whole Twiddy family and all of the other families who have been affected by this. Just know that Ben is in a better, happier place now and at peace. I pray to God to watch over you and all the other families who have been affected by this and to give you all strength and some sort of peace during your difficult times.
