August 12, 1974 – July 25, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bryan Dereck Curle, who was born in Kincardine, Ontario, on August 12, 1974, and spent much of his life in Oshawa, Ontario. Bryan was a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, and one of the kindest souls to have touched so many lives.
Bryan was predeceased by his father, Paul Curle, and his wife, Linda Curle.
Bryan is lovingly remembered by his mother, Barbara (Mike); his siblings, Marsha (Jeff), Christopher (Kate), Arnold (Claudia) and Carly (Jesse); and by his cherished nieces and nephews, Lilly, Wyatt, Declan, and Dylan, all of whom adored their uncle. He also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, including his longtime friend, Dorothy, whose friendship meant the world to him.
Bryan lived a life defined not by seeking recognition, but by quietly making a difference. Selfless, generous, and deeply compassionate, he was always the first to help someone in need, often without anyone ever knowing. He believed in giving back and supported numerous charitable causes throughout his life, finding fulfillment in helping others rather than drawing attention to himself.
A brilliant mind with an insatiable curiosity, Bryan enjoyed a long and successful career in computer science. His intelligence was extraordinary, and he had an incredible ability to teach himself almost anything he set his mind to. Whether mastering complex technology or picking up a saxophone or guitar simply because he wanted to learn, Bryan approached life with quiet determination and remarkable talent.
Although naturally introverted and someone who valued his privacy and solitude, Bryan treasured the relationships he built. He wasn't one for large crowds or the spotlight, but the people fortunate enough to know him experienced a loyal, thoughtful, and deeply caring friend. He preferred meaningful one-on-one conversations over busy gatherings, and those moments revealed his warmth, quick wit, playful sense of humour, and genuine kindness.
Bryan found joy in music and movies, and some of life's simplest pleasures brought him the greatest happiness. His love was never loud, but it was constant. He showed up when people needed him, listened without judgment, gave without expectation, and loved deeply.
Bryan's legacy is one of quiet generosity, unwavering loyalty, exceptional intelligence, and a heart that always put others first. He leaves behind countless memories, immeasurable love, and a reminder that the greatest impact often comes from those who seek no recognition for it.
Those who were lucky enough to know Bryan will remember not only his remarkable mind, but the quiet kindness that defined his life. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Bryan's memory to the Fight for the Future Fund or the Oshawa Food Bank. Donation links are provided below.
