Charlotte Ersil

Charlotte Ersil, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 15th, 2011 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Beloved wife of the late Vilibald (Bill) Ersil of Oshawa for 39 years. Proud and devoted mother of Dr. William Ersil (deceased) of Kingston, Susan Uranowski (née Ersil) and her husband Andrew of Whitby, Edward Ersil and his wife Lisa of Ottawa, Dr. Peter Ersil and his wife Bernadine of Milverton, and Roger Ersil and his wife Kathryn of Bowmanville. Cherished Oma of Kim, Stephanie, Kristina, Randy, Joseph, Ben, Alex, Sophia, Sara, Willow, Julia, and Olivia. Beloved sister of Alexandra Koziol (née Ewert) of Ibbenbüren, Germany, Alice Jukic of Hampton, Walter Ziegeldorf of Beckum, Germany, Werner Ziegeldorf of Hamburg, Germany, and Karl-Heinz Ziegeldorf of Sydney, Australia. Fondly remembered by extended family as well as close friends. Daughter of Herman and Helena Ziegeldorf of Ibbenbüren, Germany, both deceased. Charlotte was born in Renshew, Poland in 1931. In 1953, at the age of 21, she immigrated to Canada where she met and married Vilibald in Toronto. They lived in Toronto, Peterborough, and Elliot Lake before they settled in Oshawa where they lived for over 25 years before Vilibald's death in 1993. Charlotte was a dedicated and extremely proud mother to her children and a determined and strong willed lady. She taught her children to value family, travel while you are young and to live life with purpose and without fear. She is greatly missed and will never be forgotten. Visitation to be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa (905-721-1234), on Tuesday, April 19th from 2 - 4pm and 7 – 9pm. The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, April 20th, at 11am followed by a reception at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery in Oshawa. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
