WALMSLEY, Christopher "Kris" John

After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Christopher (Kris) Walmsley on June 9th, 2019, in his 58th year. Kris was predeceased by his parents, Aldith Walmsley (nee Burley) and John (Jack) Walmsley of Oshawa, Ontario and brother-in-law David Barnes of View Lake. Sadly he leaves behind his beloved wife Lisa (nee Barnes), stepson Dawson Jones, brother Michael (Jackie Fraser), sister-in-law Sally Lloyd (Doug Lloyd), sister-in-law Dolly Barnes, Aunt Sharon (nee Burley), many cousins, friends, and his beloved rescue cat Otis.

Kris was an outdoor Sales rep for CCS Industrials since February 2010. Prior to working for CCS, he worked for the family business of Walmsley – Judd. He was a remarkable, unique, kind person who was always genuinely concerned for others. Like his father, he loved music and golf. He was also very passionate about the environment, civil rights and freedom - admiring the likes of Martin Luther King and Ernesto "Che" Guevara, to name a few. He made many friends with co-workers and clients over the years, and has sustained friendships with many from his grade and high school (Donovan Collegiate) days. He loved travelling, the Chicago Blackhawks, going to concerts, taking long dog walks, and random road trips in search of hidden gems, with Lisa.

Lastly, a huge shout out to the staff on 4E and 2N at Ajax Hospital, for their kindness and support, facilitating Lisa and Kris's marriage within days of receiving the devastating prognosis.

Visitation will be held June 21, 2019 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME - 847 King St. W. Oshawa (905-721-1234) followed by a service at 3:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation, 580 Harwood Ave South Ajax, ON L1S 2J4 or to AVA (Action Volunteers for Animals, via CanadaHelps.org).

Ahhhh Kris, you are so missed. Where do I start? Always a kind word, inquiring about my mom, or my kids, with such true sincerity. I always loved your kindness, your smile, your humbleness, your gentleness, your sense of adventure, your love for our Lisa. From Cuba, to Jamaica, to Sauble Beach (to name a few), so many precious memories were made. But one place for sure, will never be the same without you, and that's Exhaustville. We will continue to play your favourite Motown music, in your honour, forever after. Rest peacefully, my beautiful, spirited friend xoxo

Chris was the caring person that we all want to become in life, every time we spoke he would always ask how my parents and kids were. He just had this intense zest for life most people will never enjoy and can remember how excited he became when telling a particularly funny happening. Hands moving, smiling, and his face expressions were priceless, it makes me smile just thinking of it. Kris with a K will be sadly missed by the the staff at CCS, he was one of a kind.
