Beth, we enjoyed your company very much at the band’s table In Hagersville November 30. We wanted to know more about Alanna’s accomplishments so turned to Google. When we saw the obituary notice for Colleen, our hearts were broken for you, for Alanna, for your whole family. We are so very, very sorry for your loss.

Dear Beth,

You were the first teaching partner of my career, back in 1997, at St. Pat's in Barrhaven. I remember your beautiful daughters coming in every now and then when you were setting up your classroom. I remember that they were the lights of your life and that you stayed home half time to be there for them and to attend their special school events. I knew then how loved they are and how proud you were then and are now . I can't imagine your family's loss. I am sure Colleen's light will shine forever and that her light will reach you in ways as special and unique as she was, always. You are all in my prayers.

Dearest Gord, Beth, Alanna, Frank and Bernice,
Colleen was such a huge part of our loving fiddle family as you all are. Her smile, kindness, gentle humour and outstanding musical talent was so generously shared with all of us. We so profoundly grieve her loss because we so profoundly love her. Allow your hearts to do this. Someone said to me that those who have gone before us are still amongst us in so many different ways like in the song of a bird, the music of a dance, or in the comfort of a familiar place, sound, smell or light. I truly believe this. Please know we are here for you and you can lean on us for love and support in this life changing journey.
With love, tears and friendship always,
Joanne, Andrew and Diana Dawydchak

Dear Jenishes,

I have had the pleasure of growing up with Alanna from Bosco to Dwyer and into our adulthoods. Colleen crashed our prom camping and was part of quite a few of our shenanigans over the years. I'll never forget the bond that Alanna and Colleen shared and the obvious love and support that came from their parents. Colleen was always a friendly face and a supportive presence in my youth as Alanna's guiding older sister. I will always remember Colleen's conviction, passion, and intelligence. I cannot imagine the pain your family is feeling but I hope that some comfort will come from knowing she made a positive impact on our little group of friends acting as everybody's wiser older sister.

Dear Beth,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss of your dear daughter Colleen. I have fond memories of you as a teacher and colleague at St. Patrick’s School. I remember when you were pregnant and the joy and love you had for your daughters. I cannot imagine the pain and grief that you, Gord, and Alanna must be feeling. I read the touching tribute that Alanna wrote about Colleen that gave me a glimpse of how very talented, kind and special she was. I hope that the love and support of family and friends will surround you and that God will gift you with healing and peace.
Thinking of you,
Bonnie McLaurin

Dear Beth, Gord and Alanna,

It was many years ago that I taught at Bosco, and even though I had only taught Alanna, I remember thinking to myself what respectful, kind, caring, bright children you had. Sisters that were always there for each other with beautiful smiles brought up in a loving environment that continued right into their young adulthood. I am so saddened to hear about Colleen's passing. Heaven has definitely received a remarkable angel to help light the way. My deepest condolences and all my love and prayers are sent your way from Northern Ontario.

God Bless,
Rosetta
