Constance Louisa Trudel

Connie passed away after a brief illness on March 8th, 2012 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 82 years. She is predeceased by Raymond Trudel, her husband of 55 years, and her son William. Connie is survived by her children Theresa Ptak (Steven), Joanne Rodgers, Robert Trudel (Lori) and Stella Timms (Daniel), 10 grandchildren and their spouses and 12 great grandchildren. She started life in Aylmer, Quebec as the eldest of 10 children born to Romeo and Lorena Laflamme. Connie is predeceased by her parents as well brothers Roger and Louis, and sister Jeanne Momy. She is survived by brother Henri and sisters Annette Sheppard, Marguerite Gagnon, Rose Chennette, Antoinette Begin and Cecile Bedard. Connie moved to Oshawa in 1952 when she married Raymond who was a General Motors employee and, together, they raised 5 children. In addition to her many roles in raising a large family she was an active member of La Federation Des Femmes Canadiennes Francaises. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. The family wishes to acknowledge and offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Extendicare for the excellent care provided to Connie. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Sunday, March 11th, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., until time of Service in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined and donations to the Humane Society of Durham Region would be greatly appreciated in memory of Connie’s love of animals.
