I was a student of Donald and he really went out of his way to help me with my life. I will forever appreciate his kindness and help. 

My deepest condolences to all of you. I have fond memories of Donnie and am so sad to hear of his passing. He was far too young and he will be missed by many.

I am devastated by the news of Donny's passing. Our hearts go out to both of you. Donnie was forever the ultimate friend. He would give you the shirt off his back and never once give it a second thought. He was always there to help someone in need regardless if you knew him or not. He was loyal, and genuine in everything he did. I will truly miss him. I could listen to Donny for hours & did!! Donny would make a round of golf go by quickly as I would listen to his every last word! He had charisma, wisdom and was extremely knowledgeable in so many of life's lessons. I truly enjoyed Donny's company whether on the ice, the golf course or just a ride up north. Donny, I already miss your larger than life personality. You would brighten a room with your infectious smile and laughter. I will never forget you as one of my best friends in the entire world.

We love you Donny and may your soul rest in peace forever.

The Hawkeyes are missing a part of our family. Don had a huge impact on the players, parents, as well as, the executive. He will be sadly missed by everyone. Our deepest sympathy to Lori, Cam and his family.

Few people I have met in life have had the impact of Don.   His smile, his infectious laugh and his authentic love and compassion brought out the very best in people. The Room, Now

The room is silent now.

It misses the sounds of chairs and lives brought together,
Of strategies employed until work is done, not always willingly.

It misses the rhythmic trudge of those not always eager, 
But always welcomed.
It misses the smiles of appreciation, of encouragement,
So cherished when occasionally reciprocated.

It misses the small victories, giant for those who have had few;
The battles fought for the right causes.
It misses the struggle to find optimisim  and mitigate defeat. 
For both add resolution.

It misses the laughter, of a bad joke, of familiar tales,
Of weekends enjoyed again in the retelling. 
It misses the ritual of fellowship with those joined together
In this, those who alone can really know. 

In time, the room will come alive again; 
The dance will continue with new partners, 
As this is as it should be.
But for now the room is silent.

I was priviledged to have coached Don on the offensive line during his time as a student athlete at Wilfrid Laurier University.  Don lit up the football field with his infectious smile and incredible positive attitude.  He took inspiration from those around him and in turn inspired them. He always gave and seldom took.I know those who came in contact with him will miss him deeply. My condolences and deepest sympathy to his family friends and teammates.

Donnie was usually heard before he was seen in a room, that laugh was heard everywhere! In  a practice he was always encouraging others and giving 100 percent, a true team player. A real heart for working with younger people, even at an earlier age when others were pursuing selfish interests. A true lover of life , thanks for sharing him with us at Laurier

Donnie was like a big brother me.  He had a heart of gold and was one of the world's great men. He laughed at me, teased me, guided me and always had my back.    Words like honourable, kind, humble, loving, funny,  and  devoted do not even begin to describe him.  The world is a different place today, not quite so bright and a bit confused and hurt that we have lost such a special person as Donnie. Lori and Cameron, I had the sincere pleasure of connecting with Donnie several years ago.  He left me with a softened heart as his soul was so giving to others in need.  The world has lost an angel while heaven has one of their most important angels returned to them.  His legacy will live on in the hearts of the people he has touched.  What an incredible individual, we are all blessed to have known him.  May your lives move forward full knowing that his love will continue to inspire your life choices and direction. Don was a kind, funny, caring advocate for students.  The Albert Campbell family has lost one of our own.  My condolences Lori and Cameron.  We miss him so much already.

Don was ALWAYS there... His door was always open and you would find him always smiling... Always welcoming... Always happy to see you! He had the warmest smile, the biggest laugh, and the most positive presence.  He was truly loved by us, and everyone around him. We will miss him dearly.
