To a dear little lady who will be sadly missed!! I loved our visits every week ~ you always made my day! Seeing that smiling face when I came in the door and our conversations....you always made me laugh! I am sure the other girls feel the same ~ miss you sweetpea and I am sure Jenny is once again by your side.

For Mum with love from June. I have struggled to find a memory to write on this page, what do I choose from our 50 years together? Should it be from my childhood? The times you would pull the armchair into the kitchen so you could tell me stories while you ironed, helping you bake, how you happily housed the many pets I collected, or how you encouraged me to obtain a good education. Should it be from my teens when you gave me the freedom to grow, when you welcomed my good friends into our home - counting heads before making breakfast on Saturday morning, or how you showed your trust in me? Should it be from my adulthood when you became Nana to my four children, how happy you were to spoil them and babysit them, and how happy you were to finally get a granddaughter after three grandsons? Should it be from family holidays, day trips to the seaside, or the weekly trips to see Nan? What should I choose from all my memories? 
When I sat with you in the hospital after your heart attack in 2010 you told me not to be sad when you die because you knew you would be going somewhere beautiful. While I believe that to be true, those of us left behind can't help but feel a great sadness. I find comfort in the fact that you have been reunited with your parents, that you have nagged Dad, and that you have probably already been to the local coffee shop for a "double, double and a cougar". I hope they realize you mean a krueller!  Love you Mum.

Never mind, eh!...

Many called you Betty though Edith was your name
A life spent with much confusion, but we loved you just the same

I know you loved your family in your own special way
Especially the girls... what can I say!

We shared something special you and I, that time cannot take away
And you called me your angel at the end of every day

Your deafness left you isolated in a world of your own
And although we tried our best to help, I'm sure you felt alone

You showed your love to animals with food as their reward
And beloved Tiger was a fixture on your ironing board

You bonded with Bun in a very special way
And demanded “greens for my rabbit” several times each day

You loved your special Jenny who never left your sight
And she slept close beside you every single night

You still had your special memories that could never be forgot
Your father meant the world to you and you still talked to Mum a lot

I can't say much about your life and times before we met
The ups and downs of living had left you with regret

But through all the disappointments and at the end of every day
You'd just smile and shrug your shoulders... “never mind, eh!”
