Elizabeth "Betty" Russell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Russell, age 92, of Oshawa, Ontario on Thursday, February 9, 2023. The heart and soul of her family, She was an amazing wife, incredible mum, loving Nana and a loyal friend. Known for her tender heart, gracious charm and strength, she is survived by loving children Anne and Christine (Nick). Predeceased by her husband Jack Russell. Cherished Nana of Jennifer, Robyn (Phylip) and Nicole (Robert).

Devoted great-grandmother to Emma, Lileigh, Kaleb, Audrey, Max and Eleanor. Betty was loving, true and trustworthy. She was always ready and willing to listen and help whenever needed. Betty always had an encouraging and welcoming smile for everyone she met. She has always been, and will continue to be a pillar of strength for her family. Her love for her family was immeasurable. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends. The family appreciates all of your prayers and kind gestures during this difficult time. A visitation for Betty will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario. A memorial service will occur Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 1:30 PM in the chapel. A reception will follow the service. Many thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their kind and compassionate care for Betty. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty’s memory may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.
