My deepest sympathy to Evelyn’s family in the loss of your mom.
As a volunteer at Fairview Lodge I called her my special girl when attending Mass on the second Friday of each month. RIP dear sweet lady.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben LaHaye were also known as Mr. and Mrs. Scout Master. Their enthusiasm and strength made it possible for many youth in Whitby to develop into fine young men. She was a no nonsense individual and Ben, of course, combined power and talent to make Scouting in Whitby something special.
I will always cherish the adventures and lessons learned. I will always respect this fine woman for the great person she was. Rest in Peace Mrs. LaHaye!

Guy La Haye, I want to say that I am sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother, Evelyn. I hope she can R.I.P., she joins your Father, Benny. I helped Benny with his PeeWee Hockey Team, in Brooklin, back in the mid- '70's. That team spawned a future NHL'er, Joe Nieuwendyk. I believe the sponsor was Whitby Mall Florists. I coached his goalie, because I am a goalie, and was, when I worked at the GM Truck Plant, 1972 to 1978. Take care.
