FOLEY Florence (nee Summers) (June 13, 1923 - July 16, 2018) On Monday, July 16, 2018, our beloved mom finished her long journey home. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland to Richard and Jessie Summers, she has joined them along with her brother Sam (Isobel), sisters Janet (Jim) and Joan (Eston). She joins her husband and love of her life Felix, son Roy both of whom she has sorely missed these many years and great grandson Stewart. Many close family members have preceded her on this great adventure and will be there to greet her and welcome her home to a family reunion the likes of which has rarely been seen. She leaves behind her daughter Maureen Mills (David) and their sons Shawn (Debra) and Keith (Jolene), her son Neil (late Hetty), his son Kyle and his daughter Stacey. There are also numerous nieces and nephews and their spouses along with their children whose lives she has touched over her 95 years. Family and friends are invited to the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Wednesday, July 25 for a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family on behalf of their mom, request donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Lung Association, the Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice. Burial will take place in Douglas, Ontario on Saturday, July 28 at St. Michaels Church Cemetery, where she will lie beside her beloved husband and son. Dear Neil / Maureen and families,
My deepest condolences to all.
I was sadden to learn that Flo had passed on, but I know that she has gone to be with those that she loved and who loved her dearly. Her strength in this journey comes from her loving family, those here on earth and those awaiting her arrival in a new place. I know first hand of this loving family and have shed both tears of sadness and joy due to the rush of memories that have flooded my mind, they will never leave me. Please know that I am thinking of you all, past and present, and sending my love at this difficult time.

Dear Mom; we have had an ongoing conversation over many years about this very time. The journey you are on now is yours to choose and the people you so missed over time will all, hopefully, be there to share with you their joy at your new found freedoms from the daily grind we all go through in these, our "golden" years. I miss our daily conversations, I miss your voice, still, I was fortunate to have had you with me for so long. My hope is that you will meet with all those you loved and missed so much these past many years, and when you do, say hello for me. And, if you meet a certain person along this journey, give her my love. I miss you all but someday, maybe, we'll meet again.

Your son;
neil

Mom - you had more strength, stamina & love than most would ever find in any one person. You loved to talk about your homeland of Scotland & one of my best memories is of my first trip there with you, finally seeing all the places you had told me about for so many years! You & dad were the best parents & I am blessed to have had you here for such a long time but you were tired & your strength was waning, so hard as it is, Rest In Peace, pain free & know that you live on in those remaining behind. Much love always & forever. ❤️❤️❤️

So much love and always a smile when family was around. She cared for everyone equally and always had time for anyone. Loved to tell stories as much as listening to them. I will miss her dearly but I know she is now surrounded by loved ones who have left us. All my love to you Nana, you'll be missed.
