Barker Family,

It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to one of the kindest, funniest and loving people we have had the privilege of knowing and sharing many memories with.  With his quick comebacks, silly jokes, hilarious impersonations and laid back mannerism it is no wonder we will always remember George as our fun loving Uncle/Gramps.  Although growing up we were often confused what our blood connection was to the Barker family,  it is without a doubt that we are family.  We feel very luckily to have been able to be a part George's life.  He will be forever in our hearts and memories.

We have been reminiscing of the many fun times we spent with you both.  In particular, the infamous ski trip to Vermont when he retold with great laughter how he joined the chairlift which was already filled with skiers.

It's with a heavy heart that I send my condolences to you Aunt Betty and the rest of the Barker family. 
Uncle George was a man in a class all his own. So loving, caring and funny. I have so many memories of fun with him as a child. Like the Hallowe'en he dressed up as a scarecrow and scared the pants off of Steven and I. He was a man who made you smile and laugh always.
The many hugs I received from him were always the best. My earliest of memories were cuddled in those arms between him and Aunt Betty at my own Nanny's funeral. 
If anything, I've learned from Uncle George's life to be positive, laugh and when all else fails, hug hard like there's no tomorrow!
My thoughts and love go out to you all this week. I will hold a special place in my heart for Uncle George always.
