George James Fox

Peacefully, with his family close by, on Thursday July 23, 2026, at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa, at 88 years of age. Loving father of Megan (Dennis), P.J. (Nicolle), and Daniel. Gramps of Liam and Ava; Courtney, Wes, Jaden and Lennon and predeceased by his beloved grandson, Connor. Dear brother of Norma and Kathy.

George studied geophysics at McGill University, graduating with a BSc. He worked briefly as a teacher in Jamaica and then worked in training and marketing at IBM Canada until his retirement. He was very active at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica in London, ON and achieved the 4th degree with the Knights of Columbus. George loved gardening and was also an accomplished pianist/organist, bridge and chess player.

George will be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends at Winchester Glen Retirement Community to whom the family extends sincerest thanks for their exceptional kindness and care over the past 4 years.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday August 25 at 10:30 am at St. Gregory the Great Parish in Oshawa (194 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa, ON L1G 4S9) , followed by a reception in the church hall.

Cremation has taken place and his remains will be interred with his parents George and Jennie in Medicine Hat, AB.
