OBITUARY

Hayden James Ryan

14 March, 1996 – 12 August, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

Oshawa Funeral Home

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Hayden James Ryan on August 12th, 2026, at 30 years of age.

Hayden leaves behind his loving wife, Sarah, and their children, Leni and Malcolm; his parents, Kevin and Stacey; his sister, Bailey (Curtis Martin) and brother, Liam; and his nieces and nephews, Tate, Wren, and Lane Martin. He will also be dearly missed by his grandparents, extended family, and many friends who loved him deeply.

Hayden will be lovingly remembered by his in-laws, Jeff and Christine Michels; his sister-in-law, Meghan Michels (Spencer Coones); and his niece and nephew, Peyton and Oscar Coones. He will also be deeply missed by his fellow officers and friends at the Durham Regional Police Service.

Hayden was quiet by nature, but behind that quiet exterior was a quick wit and perfectly dry sense of humour. He was playful, cheeky, fiercely competitive, and had a way of making life feel lighter for the people around him. Whether through a perfectly timed comment or simply being himself, Hayden could make people laugh when they needed it most and remind everyone not to take life too seriously.

Above everything else, Hayden loved his family. Sarah was the love of his life, and he was incredibly proud of the life they built together. Becoming a dad to Leni and Malcolm brought out a gentleness in Hayden that those closest to him will always remember. Thirty years could never have been enough, but Hayden will live on through his children, the stories told about him, the laughter that comes with remembering him, and the many people who loved him.

He was loved beyond measure and will be missed beyond words.

In keeping with the family’s wishes for privacy, a private visitation and service will be held for family and invited guests.

Arrangements entrusted to OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905 721-1234). Cremation to take place.

In memory of Hayden, his family would greatly appreciate donations to the SickKids Division of Cardiology.
