Jim was the beloved husband of Gayle, his high school sweetheart and wife of 63 wonderful years. He was a loving father to Shannon (Michael), Shalene, and Gregory, and a dear brother to Marlene Russell (Arthur).
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Mary, and his brother, Charles (Helen).
Jim was a devoted family man and a cherished friend to many. A true jack of all trades, he could always be counted on to lend a hand, fix something that needed fixing, or simply be there for those he loved. He had a lifelong love of sailing and treasured the time spent with his family and friends.
Jim will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, friendship, and wonderful memories will remain in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family are kindly asking for donations to the Heart and Stroke foundation or to the charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario, L1J2L4, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
