John Regas

Born June 10th, 1925 in Agios Ioannis, Monemvasia, Greece, Joannis (John) Regas passed peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, August 27th, 2016 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of sixty years to Stavroula Regas, and loving father to his sons Greg Regas and late Gus Regas. His greatest joy was being a Papou to his three cherished grandchildren Samantha, Maria, and Mila and two great-grandchildren Mya and Lyla. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by extended family and friends. The Regas family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their kindness and compassion in their care of John. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Wednesday, August 31st from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held at ANNUNCIATION OF THE VIRGIN MARY GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH (399 Farewell Street, Oshawa) on Thursday, September 1st at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Thornton Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
