John Van Staveren, age 84, passed away on September 15, 2026. John will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection by all who knew him. A steady presence in the lives of those around him, he leaves behind a legacy rooted in devotion to family and the quiet strength of a life well lived.
John is lovingly remembered by his wife, Trudy; his children, Ken (Patti), Raymond, and Lisa (John); his grandchildren, Krista (Corey), Jessica (Andrew), Justin (Julia), Reese, Darien, and Sophia; and his great-grandchildren, Amelia, Owen, Wyatt, Leo and Cole. He is also remembered as the brother of Neil (Ann), Ineke, and the late Harry (Annie), and will be fondly remembered by his many brothers and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, ON, L1J2L4, on September 22, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel at 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
