Karen Marie MacKay

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Friday, September 1st, 2017 at the age of 67. Beloved wife of Eldon for 50 years. Daughter of the late Eric and Doreen Brock. Loving mother of Keith (Tammy) and Brent (Marcia). Very special Nana of Dunae, Alisha, Jenna, Chloe and Kadri. Dear sister of Louise (Butch) and the late Elroy Urie, Ted, Susan, Dunc and the late Jenny. Sister-in-law to Bill. Daughter-in-law of the late Stewart and Mildred MacKay. Lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews and cousins. Karen enjoyed golf, gardening, playing cards and spending time with her many friends in Ontario, Nova Scotia and Myrtle Beach. Special thank you to Dr. Koneru, Sue, Dr. Irish, and the staff at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, Palliative Care and the PSW’s for their kindness and care. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Wednesday, September 6th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. and on Thursday September 7th from noon until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hearth Place or Durham Cancer Centre.
