

Linda Marie Bowles was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Linda will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Linda was born on August 29, 1964 at Oshawa General Hospital in Oshawa, Ontario. She was the daughter of Stan and Verna Mages and the granddaughter of Arthur and Helen Kranstz, Arthur and Sue Pink and Frank Pink.
Linda was raised with two siblings. She had an older brother, Steven and an older sister Nancy. Linda was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young girl, Linda had a number of interests. Like most children, she enjoyed playing and making up games. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. Linda was an active child who took part in Brownies and Girl Guides. However, to Linda, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with her friends and family.
A typical teenager, Linda had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from G. L. Roberts. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favourite subjects and teachers.
Linda first met Darren Bowles at work and on July 28, 1990 they exchanged wedding vows. Empathic and loyal, Linda was committed to making her new family happy.
Linda worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Linda was blessed with two children, Ryan Wilson and Shayla Bowles.
Fortunately, Linda enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Linda worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was as a factor worker - assembler. Linda always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Linda enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favourite pursuits were puzzle books and scratch tickets. She also enjoyed camping and going to the cottage. Linda loved the colours purple, mauve and pink.
Linda passed away on July 17, 2011 at Lakeridge Health in Whitby, Ontario. Linda fought a brave battle against cancer. She is survived by her husband Darren and children Ryan and Shayla. Services were held at Oshawa Funeral Home.
Simply stated, Linda was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Linda leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Linda Marie Bowles.

After a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer, she went to a happier place, on Sunday, July 17th, 2011, in her 47th year. Beloved wife of Darren Bowles. Loving mother of Ryan and Shayla. She will be sadly missed by her parents Stan and Verna Mages; her brother Steven Mages (Lynda); her sister Nancy (Bob Gordanier). Lovingly remembered by her in-laws Maureen and John Bowles; Craig (Kim); Mark; Barbara Mayall; and her many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Thursday, July 21st from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, July 22nd at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Palliative Care at Lakeridge Health Whitby would be appreciated.
