It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Mark Chappell, at the age of 55.
He was the beloved father of Jack and Carson and cherished son of Christopher. He was predeceased by his mother. He will be lovingly remembered by his extended family, friends, and many colleagues who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born and raised in Pickering, he spent his summers in Sudbury with his grandparents, where he developed a deep appreciation and love for the outdoors. His passion for camping, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling continued throughout his life.
He proudly dedicated over 30 years of service to law enforcement, serving as a Police Constable with the Toronto Police Service and Durham Regional Police Service. Upon his retirement, he returned to the Sudbury area, a place that had always held a special place in his heart.
He will be remembered for the friendships he formed, the adventures he shared, and the lasting impact he had on the lives of those around him. He will be deeply missed by his sons, his father, family, friends, and former colleagues.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and deeply missed.
Visitation will take place at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel, on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 10:30 am.
