Michelina Labriola

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Michelina peacefully passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa surrounded by her family on Monday, May 2nd, 2016 at the age of 89. Loving daughter of the late Nicola and Antonietta. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Rocco. Loving and adored mother of Attilio (Ruby), Antonio (Josephine), Enrico, Nicola (Lorraine), Teresa (Dan), Mario (Angela), Antonietta (Michael) and Anna (Jim). She was the precious grandmother to 22 grandchildren and dearest great-grandmother to 4. Michelina was the loving sister of Franca, Luca (Maria) and Rosa and predeceased by Elisa (Domenico), Antonietta (Raffaele), Maria (Salvatore), Pina and Michele (Enza). Michelina will be fondly remembered for her unconditional love of her family, of which she embraced and adored first and foremost. With much gratitude, Michelina accepted the warmth and richness of her children, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was grateful to have been integrally involved with each of them, continually showering them with blessings. Michelina showed great love, care, and warmth to all those who met her on her journey. We will forever remember our beloved mother and nonna for her warmth, wisdom, compassion, encouragement, strength and tenacious love for all of her family. She will continue to be a beacon of hope. Thank you to all those who have offered expressions of condolence and support for our family. Eternal rest, grant to her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon Michelina. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Thursday, May 5th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Parish Prayers at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARY OF THE PEOPLE CATHOIC CHURCH (570 Marion Avenue, Oshawa) on Friday, May 6th at 10:30 a.m. Interment Thornton Cemetery.
