Dear Wendy and Jennifer:

I have many fond memories of your Mom and Dad when we were neighbors on Sunrise. Also tears shared when Michael and James passed and then your dear Mom. Your Dad was someone I respected so much because he loved his family, with all of his heart, and was never afraid to show it. May his love now sustain you and may all of you keep it going.

Kindest regards.

The family wanted to share a nice note received from Bob Bentley as it brought back fond memories of him and his hockey buddies!

For those that were not fortunate to know Phil, he [and Pat] was an original member of Moe's Hockey. For almost 20 years he was responsible for picking the teams each and every day. And what a fine job he did, no one to this day has ever done a better job! Unfortunately, years ago, Phil had a stroke and was somewhat disabled in walking and had some speech issues. But he still had a great mind and still loved the horses and gambling, just like Pat!

Wendy & Jennifer & Family, I'm saddened to have heard about dad. Although it has been a lifetime ago since i've seen any of you, there are to this day so many wonderful memories from my childhood that include your family. My mom (88) and i over the years often would wonder how you all are, no matter how many years have gone by Wendy you've never been far from our thoughts.
Our deepest condolences
Love Linda & Betty

It is with great sadness that I talk about my good friend Phil. Phil and I go back 60 years growing up in Scarborough and hanging around the restaurant we called the {slop shop} at stop 17 on the Kingston Rd. Being there when he was dating Lynn and then marrying her. Those two were meant for each other as they were both good at the one liners, always making people laugh. They were so in love. My wife Irene and I had great times with them. I don't know anybody that has had so much tragedy in his life as Phil. Losing Lynn then Michael and still going threw life with a smile on his face. Playing golf with Phil was a treat, he thought about re-righting the rules of golf and allow tees on the fairways. I know Phil is smiling right now as I can't remember him not. You will be missed ---Harry Bannister

Dear Wendy & Jennifer and family:

Just a note to tell you how sorry we were to hear about your Dad. Maria and I worked with him for 30+ years at City Hall along with Kyle and Phil"s many friends. Your Dad was a joy to be around, always had a smile with a great sense of humour - just one of the nicest people you could ever meet and we were so glad to have him as a friend. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all today.

Wendy and Family, so very sad to read this today. Growing up on Sunrise, I always remember both of your parents be welcoming and having big smiles on their faces. Unfortunately, we are all facing the same these days with our parent ailing or passing away. Super tough to go through. Sending love and prayers, Susan Heineman (Bateman)

My favorite memory of Phil is our time spent playing golf at Winchester and then off to Whiskey Johns for beer & wings. I was very lucky to have Phil there to witness my first hole in one which he had written up in Oshawa This Week for me. I will miss you Phil xoxo Joan
