Peacefully at Sunnycrest Nursing Home on Friday, September 2nd, 2011, in his 97th year. Predeceased by his wife Hazel (nee Gray), Lorna (nee Giroux), and daughter Sandy Bath. Dear grandfather of David and his wife Janice, Timothy and his partner Jeanette and John and his wife Julie. Great-grandfather to CJ, Eric and Jake. Fondly remembered by his sister Beatrice and predeceased by siblings; Walter, Melbourne, Merle, Zelma, Gladys, Grace and Douglas. Bob was passionate about community service, and through his efforts, enriched the lives of both friends and strangers. His dedication to a variety of causes was acknowledged with the Whitby Senior Volunteer of the Year Award in 2008. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, September 9th from 10:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations made to World Vision would be appreciated.
