Ronald Duffy

Passed away peacefully, following a brief illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, May 12th, 2011, in his 78th year. Ron beloved husband of 57 years to his best friend Lois (nee Lockwood). Devoted father of Susan and her husband Bob Visneski of Brockville, Dianne Duffy of Toronto and Scott and his wife Tammy of Lindsay. Loving grandpa of Michelle, Joey, Kirstene, Bradley, Caileb and Brian (who held a special place in Grandpa’s heart). Predeceased by his parents Henry and Gladys Duffy and his brother Bill. Fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Bill Lockwood and his wife Carol, and his sister-in-law Noreen Duffy and his nieces and nephews. Ron retired from General Motors of Canada as Secretary-Treasurer after 40 years of service. Ron was also Executive Director of The United Way of Durham for several years. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Sunday, May 15th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at NORTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH (676 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa) on Monday, May 16th at 11:00 a.m. Interment of ashes at a later date. Donations in memory of Ron to The United Way would be appreciated.
