Sandra Lee Weldon

Sandra spent her life in Oshawa, born to Robert and June Galbraith on October 6 1949. She worked as a legal secretary at various firms until she began her family with Harry Weldon, whom she leaves behind after almost 49 years of marriage (July 22, 1977).

Many organizations benefited from Sandra’s tireless volunteering. She served as the manager for Little NHL teams and was elected secretary of Oshawa Minor Hockey. As an involved parent, she was a regular classroom volunteer and president of the Home and School Association at Sunset Heights PS, continuing her volunteer work for years after her daughters had graduated.

Sandra served on the board of the Oshawa Lawn Bowling Club, running jitneys and tournaments for years. She gave her time with the IODE at their bingo, and could be found several days a week volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Society charity shop in downtown Oshawa.

If you asked her, she would say her most important calling was her family, as mother to Christine Senior (Keith) and Susan Geary (Martin). She loved her five grandchildren more than anything. Along with Harry, they spent every Thursday with an expanding group of little ones. She leaves behind Nathan, Charlotte, Rachel Senior and Simon and Lucy Geary.

Sandra loved reading, watching her grandchildren play a variety of sports, Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen, a cup of black coffee over breakfast out, and finally getting to visit the UK. She will be missed by many friends, including some she has known since childhood.

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West on Tuesday May 19, 2026, from 5 - 8 p.m and on Wednesday May 20, 2026 from 12:30 p.m. until time of Memorial Service in the chapel at 1:30 p.m.
