I was so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing.

I remember how welcoming she was when I came to your house to play when we were kids, Heather. She was always interested in what was going on in our lives and took the time to engage in lively conversation and have a laugh or two. I knew at the time she was very active in our community and this is clearly how she lived life — fully present and engaged! What a wonderful way to spend your time here on this planet!

My sincere condolences to the whole family.

Thank you so much for providing the link to the memorial service, I was prepping for lunch service this morning and did not get an opportunity to view it in the theatre along with the residents.

This was such a beautiful service, The Christmas tree, the flowers, and especially the LOVE. Love was everywhere. The children, grandchildren, and the remarkable speakers. All so beautifully done. The amazing footage originally produced for her 90th birthday. The music, the scripture, the poems, the tears and the laughs.

We at Lynde Creek Manor shall continue to mourn the loss of our wonderful Thelma. But we shall treasure the memory of her presence every day. And every time I look out onto Thelma's tree garden I will smile and think of Thelma and her adoring family.

p.s. I am the one who took the photo a couple of years ago of Thelma sitting on Santas's knee. I printed it and gave Thelma some copies. It was such a great shot, Truly the spirit of Christmas lived through Thelma Baker.

Thelma was one of a kind! She was very proud of her family, friends and being a Toastmaster. Over the years, I have enjoyed her stories and speeches about growing up during WWII in London England and her adventures when she came to Canada. She had a big heart and loved having fun. Her lemon squares are legendary! Thelma was such a bright light and I will miss her.
My deepest condolences to her family.
