

It is with sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Madeline Ellis at Caressant Care Home, Lindsay, Ontario.
Unice Madeline Ellis was the Wife of predeceased husband Orval Ellis in her 100th year and 7 months. Predeceased by her parents Bruce and Margaretta (Stephenson) Conner. Predeceased brother Warren Conner, Predeceased sister Mabel “Olive” Conner, Predeceased sister Bernice (Conner) and Late husband Alexander Bishop, Predeceased brother Lloyd Conner (infancy Twin), Predeceased sister Lorine (Conner twin) late husband Werner Eymann.
She leaves behind Shirley Hellemond (Albert), Kenneth Ellis (Deceased wife Joyce), Lynda Russell (Deceased husband Terry Russell) Predeceased son Wayne Ellis.
Survived by grandchildren, Rebecca (Eugene), Heather (Steve), Derek, Gary, Deanna (Dwayne), Michael, Shawn, Gregory (Destiny), Nicholas, Todd (Nick) and several Great Grandchildren and Great Great Great Grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, grandniece and grandnephew, extended family and friends. Will be sadly missed by Wayne’s dog, Lucky.
Madeline was born in Pickering, Ontario and raised in Whitby, Ontario. Her great grandfather was a minister.
Madeline and Orval had many adventures, one was the making of buckslide camp, on Kushog lake near Boshkung Lake, running the store, cutting grass and running over the snakes with the lawnmower. As a young girl her sisters were told to stay home, but they snuck up to the barn and saw a pig being butchered and they squealed all the way home.
Madeline and Orval loved to go camping and every weekend they were gone camping. They were snowbirds and had good times in Florida. Mom learned to play the bongos and rode a three-wheel bike, she loved her family and friends and her community Baptist church family on Enfield Road Hampton, Ontario. She had a great life and is happy to be reunited in heaven with Orval.
Madeline worked in Campbell’s Soup line in Whitby, Stokley’s. Also picked peas that were bad and stems out on a conveyor belt.
Worked for G.M on the airplanes for WWII (Rosie Rivitor) 6-gun Portals. She also worked in coulters a manufacturer in Oshawa, on drills, presses, jar rings for sealers.
Visitation will be held at the Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario (905-721-1234) on July 4th 2026 from 9:00am to 10:00am, followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 10:00am with pastor John Benschop. Interment at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens in Whitby, Ontario to follow.
