Wiebren "Bill" Wielinga

It is with a profound sense of sadness that we announce the passing of Wiebren (Bill) Wielinga, who went to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on February 7, 2025, at the age of 90. He was born on November 21, 1934, in Burgwerd, The Netherlands, and immigrated to Canada in 1957.

Bill was the loving husband of Klaaske (Kathy) for 62 years. He was a faithful and dedicated employee at General Motors in Oshawa for 37 years. Bill leaves behind four children: Henry (Linda), Ingrid (Ted), Arlene (Neil), and Evelyn (Rob), as well as 10 grandchildren: Emily (Chris), Brittany (Steve), Joshua (Ashton), Kathleen (Dan), Nathan (Madeleine), Matthew, William, David (predeceased), Mackenzie (Channing), and Laura (Lucas), along with 9 great-grandchildren.

A devoted and cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bill's legacy of love, faith, and service at his church and in the community will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be at Emmanuel Reformed Church, 401 Rossland Rd. W. Whitby on Saturday February 15, 2025 from 11 am until 12:30 pm followed by a Funeral Service at the Church beginning at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gate 3:16 in Oshawa in his memory.

May Bill rest in peace in his eternal new home, embraced by the love of his family and in the grace and presence of God.
