Daniel J. “Dan” Bushee, 62, of Ossian, passed away November 24, 2013 at his home. He was born on November 3, 1951 in Fort Wayne to Norman and LaVerne Bushee. He is a retired director at the Freedom House Inc., Fort Wayne and will be remembered for his dedication to helping others with drug and alcohol addictions. He also worked at and served on the board at the Oak Lawn Cemetery for a number of years. He grew up attending First Presbyterian Church, Ossian. Surviving family include his mother, LaVerne Bushee; daughter, Bethany Carr; granddaughter, Courtney Carr; soul mate, Jan Chaney and her family; sister, Nanette Bear; and nieces, Marissa and Brittany. He was preceded in passing by his father, Norman. A funeral service will be 5:00 pm on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Freedom House Inc. or First Presbyterian Church, Ossian.
