Dorothy M. Schwartz, 89, a longtime resident of Uniondale, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at River Terrace. She was born January 24, 1924 in Wells County, daughter of the late Henry and Clara (Mayer) Foust. She worked at Magnatek, retiring in 1986. She and her husband Lorin worked as custodians at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Uniondale for many years, where they were active members. Surviving are her daughter in law, Donna Schwartz of Plymouth, Indiana; siblings, Nellie Biberstine of Wren, Ohio, Wayne Foust of Berne, Indiana, and Nancy Betts of Petroleum, Indiana; grandchildren, Leslie Schwartz and Amy (Chris) Jordan; and great grandson, Charlie Jordan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lorin Schwartz in 2012; and her son Michael Schwartz in 2011. Funeral is Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, Indiana 46777 with visitation 1 hour prior services. Burial will be in Horeb Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
